Who?

The project was created by Anaïs Pierrart ( i.e. me), a French student in exchange for the 2018-2019 year at Michigan State University (MSU). I am in my Junior year, studying Modern Business Language (Spanish and English)
Why ?
​
The JATP was created as a final Project for the "Introduction to Digital Humanities" of the 2018 fall semester. Being a fan of Jane Austen, I thought it would be interesting to truly know where the character lived and traveled ( I don't know you but before the project , I had no idea where was Somersethsire). As a consquence my research question was: Did Jane Austen's heroines traveled in the same cities and if so, did these cities had a link to the author's personal life?
How ?

For the Project, I used two biographies of Jane Austen's life and a book regrouping all of her completed novels (see Sources & Thanks ).
To make the project alive, I used text -analysis tool Voyant and above all, the Arcgis webmap. For more informations, go to the Methodology page.
